BLOOMINGDALE’S GOOD FOR THE GLOBE CAROUSEL POP-UP

Bloomingdale’s launched The Carousel pop-up concept last fall and it is in its fourth iteration, “Good for the Globe.” The Carousel is a rotating pop-up shop driven by culturally relevant themes with merchandise hand-selected by guest curators and brought to life with activations and events.

“At a time when more and more people are interested in sustainable, eco-friendly and socially conscious products, Good for the Globe enables us to draw attention to this important, of-the-moment topic,” Frank Kerman, Bloomindale’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, told WWD.

For this concept Bloomingdale’s partnered with pro surfer and Surfrider Foundation ambassador Quincy Davis to create a curated assortment of eco-friendly and socially conscious products. From garments made from recyclable materials to products with proceeds that benefit meaningful causes, shoppers who visit the pop-up can expect to find a collection of pieces that “do good for the globe” and help them reduce, reuse, and recycle in style.

Clean beauty is well represented in this latest pop-up concept with brands Organic Pharmacy, Pestle & Mortar, Pai, Clean and RMS. “We worked with Bloomingdale’s to enter this pop up first as a precursor to WellChemist as the whole concept of being Good for the Globe fit in nicely with our brand,” said Jeana Chung, VP of Marketing & Sales.

These pop-up concepts are providing DTC brands like Knours a way to test the brick-and-mortar retail waters before making a permanent commitment. “The partnership is mutually beneficial as Bloomingdale’s is dedicated to clean beauty and wellness with the roll out of their permanent concept WellChemist (in their top doors for now) that will be rolling out to all doors in the future. Knours is the right product, right place as we care about clean beauty (EWG verified) and we care about wellness as taking care of your hormones and ultimately your skin give women the confidence to live beauty everyday,” Chung continued. “We hope this initial launch is successful so that it will strengthen our positioning within WellChemist post the pop up and we are confident that it will be! This has personally been a dream of mine to be in Bloomingdale’s!!!”

The Carousel “Good for the Globe” will run from March 7 through May 6 at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street, Soho, Century City, and San Francisco.
