The Environmental Working Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. EWG’s research and open-source information has stirred a lot of healthy and necessary discussions in the past years. Their team of scientists, policy experts, lawyers, communication experts and programmers aim to stand up for public health against the industry.

Strangely, the American government doesn’t require health studies or pre-market testing of the chemicals in personal care products, even though just about everyone is exposed to them. Through reports, online databases, mobile apps and communications campaigns, EWG empowers consumers to make safer and more informed decisions about the products they buy and the companies they support. As a result, they have gained trust from many consumers who are conscious about that goes into the products they use on an everyday basis.
EWG's Skin Deep is an online safety guide for cosmetics and personal care products, which launched in 2004 to help people find safer products with fewer ingredients that are hazardous or that haven't been thoroughly tested. In line with this, EWG also developed a hazard rating system that reflects known and suspected hazards associated with ingredients and products. Hazard ratings are marked numerically from 1 (low concern) to 10 (high concern). All of Knours products use the safest grade 1 ingredients verified by EWG. Knours proudly bare EWG verified mark on all of our products to display our commitment to healthy skincare for everyone. We’ll always be upfront about everything that’s in our products, because we believe information is power and choice.
